Single Sign On (SSO) is a method that provides users with the ability to
log-in one time, getting authenticated access to all their applications
and resources.
Here we compare RoboForm approach to implementing Single Sign On solution
throughout your Enterprise and compare it to a standard approach used in SSO.
No Implementation Phase.
In a standard SSO you need to assemble all your passwords for all
users into one central database, even if some of the users will
never use some of the passwords.
This is a lengthy and expensive process.
This process is not required in RoboForm.
When user enters a new password that RoboForm does not have on file,
it will simply offer to save this password.
The only thing a user needs to to start using RoboForm is to install it.
And even this process can be automated using Silent Install mode.
Security Risks Mitigated by Using Strong Encryption.
In a standard SSO all passwords are stored in a central database,
so if a hacker or, more likely, a disgruntled employee steals
this database, the entire Enterprise will be compromised
and resetting all these passwords will take long time.
In RoboForm the passwords file is encrypted using AES/BlowFish/RC6
with Master Password being a key.
The password files (passcards) may be stored on a client's computer
or on a network-mounted file system.
In any case, if a hacker/employee steals it, he will have to break
3DES or AES encryption (deemed to be impossible) because
he does not know everybody's Master Password.
Dual Master Password Increases Protection from Employees.
If you have employees that may be fired in the future and
it would be better for them not to know passwords
to accounts into which they are allowed to login,
use Dual Master Password feature of RoboForm.
It allows employee to auto-login to a web site
but not view or edit the password used to login.
Both External and Internal Passwords.
RoboForm can memorize any passwords, not just passwords you use internally.
So if your employees have to access password-protected site of the
companies you do business with, RoboForm will handle these passwords too.
Standard SSO approach does not allow to single-sign-on to partner`s
sites without establishing an SSO/SAML relationship with them.
Intuitive Interface Means Less Work For Support.
RoboForm makes user interaction a breeze,
so a user can start using RoboForm without training.
With its intuitive interface and online help
user does really "get it" and since
server component is not required in RoboForm,
your support costs will be close to zero.
Automated Installation Supported.
RoboForm installer has command line options that allow
you to modify all aspects of RoboForm operation:
whether to show RoboForm toolbar or not,
location of RoboForm Data Files, all program options.
RoboForm installer is compatible with most automated software install programs,
so RoboForm is as easy to install on 1000 computers, as it is on one.
How Others Use It: Fujitsu example.
Fujitsu has several hundred support operators that
need to login to 5 internal web sites
every time they come to work.
Fujitsu installed RoboForm on every operator's workstation
and implemented automated procedure that executes
Login on 5 passcards for these web sites at the start of the day.
RoboForm toolbar is hidden, so operators
do not even know how login happens and they
cannot see passwords used, due to Dual Password feature.
Pay As You Go: Flat Per Seat Pricing.
Since RoboForm does not require an expensive implementation phase,
you can start using it by simply downloading
a Free 30-day Trial of RoboForm.
Then you can buy any number of RoboForm Pro licenses if you like it,
you can even buy just one license.
We also provide Volume Discounts and Site Licenses.
Customization and Private-Labeling.
We can create a Custom Private-Labeled or Co-Branded version of
RoboForm if you buy a big Site License.
